Theological Unity

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3

Theological Unity is one of the five critical targets of the Rocky Mountain District’s vision of Igniting Church and Culture for Christ. This commitment of doctrinal uniformity of worship among ministries of the Rocky Mountain District is highlighted in the following mission statement:

Unity in the Church comes through the Scriptures and Confessions. We wish to promote unity through the dialogue of Scriptures and Confessions. This work is to be among our clergy, commissioned ministers and laity. Through this dialogue we wish to promote fellowship, love, and trust among workers and the Church.

A bonfire cannot be created if the logs are miles apart. It is important to remain a doctrinal church, a church that loves the Lord’s Word and the study of it. Even so, God calls us to deal with each other in a loving manner and to be open to His Word. To be a beacon to the world, we must bring our logs closer together so they will burn brightly for all to see.
