Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:2 NIV

Our District's Mission Field

There is indeed a great harvest waiting within the boundaries of the Rocky Mountain District. Of the approximately 9 million people who live in our District, more that half do not belong to a Christian church. Many are from groups that have been hard to reach for Jesus Christ such as:

2 million Hispanics
1.5 million Mormons
400,000 College Students
200,000 Native Americans
150,000 Asians

Beyond demographics, other challenges to missions exist:

Rapid Growth: Colorado, Utah and New Mexico are all expected to be in the top ten fastest growing states in our country. How do we plant enough churches just to keep up?
Sparsely Populated Areas: While some areas are booming, many regions of our District have low population density. Supporting a full-time worker and a church building can be out of the question.
Resort Ministry: How do you meet the spiritual needs of people who only live in your area part of the time and when they are there, spiritual priorities take a back seat to recreation?
Opportunities to share the Gospel knock at our door often. If you believe God is calling your congregation to begin a new mission effort or if you would like more information on missions in the Rocky Mountain District please contact:
